(Marietta, OH) – At yesterday's Local Emergency Planning Committee meeting a variety of things were discussed. One main focus was on WashCoAlert's newest additions.

WashCoALERT now offers "Snow Level Emergency" alerts and Winter Weather Advisory alerts.

If you're already signed up you can sign in and update your account to start receiving those alerts.

If you're not signed up, but are interested in this FREE alert system for both local emergency notifications as well as weather alerts you can sign up at WashCoAlert.com.

You can choose what types of alerts you want to receive such as Boil Advisories, Thunderstorm warnings, and much more. Then you choose how you want to be notified. You can receive text notifications, phone calls, and emails.

If you don't want to be alerted at certain times, such as at night when you are asleep you can set "quiet times" so that you will not receive alerts during those set times. Be aware that if a Winter Weather Advisory goes out during your "quiet time" you will not receive a text or phone call even after your quiet time is over, so it's best to add an email to your line of notifications.

You can find more information at WashCoAlert.com or on Facebook on the LEPC of Washington County, OH page.
