(Marietta, OH) - A part of a leg that was found along the bank of the Ohio River almost a year ago was that of a man that disappeared four months before it was found.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says that after testing by the University of North Texas, the leg was identified as that of Daniel Reid of Williamstown.

The leg was found along the riverbank in July of last year. Reid was reported as missing to the Williamstown Police Department in March of last year.

Authorities say DNA testing confirmed the the leg was that of Reid.

The sheriff's office says the test results will be given to the Williamstown Police Department as they continue their investigation as to what happened to Reid.
