WATERFORD, Ohio (July 26, 2016) - The Frontier Local Schools Board of Education is in the process of screening possible candidates for the superintendent position. The search comes in the wake of former Superintendent Kevin Turner's recent resignation, which will be effective July 31.

The Board accepted Turner's resignation in late June and agreed to pay out the 60-day balance of his contract totaling $6,250. Turner had been placed on administrative leave in late May as part of an investigation by Frontier's legal counsel, but school officials say his resignation will leave questions related to that investigation unanswered.

The district has chosen not to release details related to the investigation since allegations cannot be proven.

Frontier Local is currently considering 17 candidates for the position. Dan Doyle is serving as the interim superintendent while the search process is under way.
