Man Arrested For Trafficking

A Washington County man is facking felony charges after law enformement agents discovered drugs and a stolen vehicle in his posession late last week.  
 
Aaron Ray Carpenter, age 35, was arrested on Thursday, January 12, after law enformcement agents say they intercepeted approximately 20 pounds of marijuana being delivered to the man's residence in Cutler.  Officers also say the 2007 Ford Mustang Carpenter was driving had been reported stolen from Waverly, Ohio.  
 
According to police reports, Carpenter said the packages were delivered to his home from California, and that his residence was a drop-off point.  carpenter allegedly said he purchased the Mustang from an individual and had only paid a partial payment, as the previous owner never collected the rest of the money. 
 
Carpenter was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail where he was charged with trafficking in marijuana a third-degree felony, and for receiving stolen property a fourth-degree felony.  
 
The investigaation was a joint effort by the Ohio Organized Crimes Investigation Commission, the Washington -Morgan-Noble Major Crimes Task Force, and the Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force.
