News from this morning.  The City of Marietta sent out information regarding a new phone scam.  This scam uses Marietta Memorial Hospital's actual phone number and uses it to call unsuspecting residents to retreive credit card information.

The phone number will show up on your call ID exactly the same way it would if the hospital would be calling you however when you pick up your phone you will be asked for credit card information.  It is very important to avoid giving credit card information over the phone and the city reminds us that Marietta Memorial Hospital does not use automated collection services in the first place.

The phone number is 1-740-374-1400.  You are advised to hang up the phone immediately if  you are asked for any personal information regarding your credit cards.
