Marietta College is Asking, What is Poetry For?

Marietta College is asking the question, "What is poetry for - and can it still matter in a world of tweets and images?
 
Poet and essayist Lia Purpura explores this subject in eight collections of poems and essays.  She will also share parts of her work in a public reading at 7pm on Friday, March 31st. 
 
The event will take place in the Timothy O. Cooper Auditorium.
 
The author will sign copies of her book after the reading.  The event, which is sponsored by the Marietta College English Department is free and open to the public.

Sanitary Sewer Repairs on 751 Glendale Road

The Marietta Wastewater Department will be making a sanitary sewer repair in front of 751 Glendale Road on Tuesday, October 24th, 2017.

 

Eleven Seniors Make Up Marietta College's Homecoming Court

Marietta College's student body will begin voting for the 2017 Homecoming king and queen on Thursday, October 19th during the lunch and dinner hours at Gilman Dining Hall.
