Peoples Bank Honored

Peoples Bank will be one of nine winners to receive awards at the 2017 Governor's Awards for the Arts.  The Awards Ceremony will take place Wednesday, May 17th at the Columbus Athenaeum.
 
Six Ohio Arts Council Board Members make up the selection Committee for the Governor's Awards.  These six board members recommend the winners after the reviewing period.  81 nominations were submitted by individuals and organizations across the Buckeye State. 
 
Jane Irvine, the Executive Director of Artsbridge, INC says - "Peoples Bank strongly believes that promoting arts can help stimulate local economies and clutivate vibrant communities."  Irvine went on to say that there is excitement for the Governor's Awards Selection Committee selection of Peoples Bank. 
 
Nearly a centuy ago in 1919, Peoples Bank was the head sponsor of the very first production put on by the Historic Peoples Bank Theatre and came full circle with the recent help to its renovation.
 
Peoples Bank Executive Director Hunt Brawley says he is proud to learn that the bank was being honored for their generosity and community spirit.
