Two local grocery stores will be closing their doors. Food 4 Less in Marietta and the IGA along route 7 in Newport.
The process of shutting these businesses down will begin this week and Manager Bucky Lee has said that it is time to be done after 52 years in the grocery business.
This is the very last location for Food 4 Less, East of the Mississippi River. The next closest location is outside of Chicago.
Food 4 Less has been in business since December of 1993 while the IGA location in Newport has been open for forty six years.
Some residents say that it is sad that these locations are closing and call it an unhandy situation.
No plans are in place for the buildings as of not. Both stores are expected to be closed within 4 weeks.
