Truck Stuck At Top of Groves Avenue

On Thursday afternoon a 53 foot tractor trailer was traveling up Groves Avenue, commonly known as "Slaughterhouse Hill."  At the top of the hill, the semi truck driver attempted to make the very sharp left hand turn onto State Route 676 to travel East.

The front of the truck was deep down in a resident's yard when the landing gear and the air dam of the trailer dug into the pavement, high centering the trailer and halting the operation completely.

WMOA News was at the scene and spoke with home owner, Alice Skidmore, who says this has happened before and the last time it occurred was back in December.

After the tow truck was called and arrived the issue was fixed in a matter of moments.  Signs are posted on site to remind semi drivers that no left hand turn is allowed at the top of the hill.  Visit WMOA's FaceBook page to see the video of the efforts to fix the situation.

Truck Stuck At Top of Groves Avenue

Not the first... and possibly not the last time this will happen. A 53 foot semi truck became stuck after attempting to turn left at the top of Groves Avenue in Marietta.
