Meth Found in Lawrence

A Washington County Sheriff's Deputy was in Lawrence, just North Eas of Marietta and observed a truck in the roadway.  The Deputy stopped and found the driver, later identified as Larry Hasley, and passenger, identified as Corey Smearman.
 
The report says that the deputy noticed Smearman was moving as if he was trying to hide something.  The deputy then asked both of the men to exit the vehicle.
 
Dispatch advised that Hasley had four outstanding warrants for his arrest.  The report says that the deputy then immediately arrested Hasley and placed him in the back of the patrol vehicle and the deputy later received consent to search the vehicle.
 
A pill was allgedly spotted by the deputy once Hasley exited the vehicle.  The report says that there were several insulin needles in the vehicle along with a blac zippered bag on the passenger footwell containing suspected meth and other pills which were later tested positive to be Clonazepam.  Once the suspected meth was tested, it proved positive.
 
38 year old Larry Hasley of Marietta was arrested and charged with possession of drug abuse instruments and tampering with drugs.  28 year old Corey Smearman was arrested and charged with possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of drugs.  Both were taken to the Washington County Jail for processing.
