Over the Phone Returns

Posted on: 07/11/2017
By  Brett Wharff
Southeastern Ohio Legal Services has announced that those who attempted to report or file unemployment benefits over the phone and instead reached a recording informing them that all reporting must be done with a computer are not able to receive back benefits.
The recording is incorrect.
The Attorney General's office is reinstating the phone reporting system as a guideline to the Department of Labor and the Ohio Revised Code.  It does not permit equal access for individuals who are unable to access the internet.
Southeastern Ohio Legal Services has also said in their release that those who missed their weekly claim because of lack of computer access should contact the processing center and explain the circumstance.
Any questions regarding this matter can be answered by calling 740-594-3558.
