Plane Crash in Waterford

More news regarding the fatal plane crash near Beverly.  The Marietta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash and it is currently believed to have happened at some point between 10:36am and 12:30pm according to the Highway Patrol's press release.
 
The plane was classified as a Piper Archer PA28 and was being flown by 63 year old Umamahesware Kalapatapu of Logansport Indiana.
 
Flight service was reported missing at 12:03pm with the last reported contact with the plane at 10:36.
 
The Washington County Sheriff's Office had assisted in checking other local airports for the missing plane.
 
According to the report, the Ohio State Highway Patrol Aviation with the assistance of the Civil Air Patrol, were able to locate the crash scene in an abandoned retention pond.  Units were then reportedly dispatched to the scene to examine the wreckage.
 
A large debris field was discovered underwater by dive teams who were also able to locate and confirm the deaths of the pilot as well as the passenger, 61 year old Sitha-Gita Kalapatapu also of Logansport Indiana.
 
The Crash is still under investigation by the FAA and the NTSB and Crews from Brock's Towing have removed the debris.
