The Wilds Welcome Male Giraffe

In Cumberland, Ohio, the nature resevrve known as "The Wilds" has recently announced the birth of a Masai giraffe calf. Named Fenny in honor of the Giraffe Conversation Foundation's co-founder and co-director Dr. Julian Fennessy; the giraffe calf was born on the afternoon of Saturday, August 5th 2017. Fenny's father Raha was born at the Los Angeles Zoo back in April 2006, and his mother Savannah was born at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo back in August 2003. Fenny is Savannah's third chalf and second calf born to Raha.
 
Guests on Wildside Tours and Open-Air Safari Tours may see the newly born calf during their visit to The Wilds. However, his parents will remain under evaluation of the staff for the time being, before being reintrograted with the other animals in the pasture.
