10-Day Citywide Road Repaving Project in Marietta

Beginning Monday, August 21st, drivers in the Marietta area will need to avoid parking on certain streets and watch out for work zones, as a 10-day citywide repaving project begins, with the current prospect being to have it finished by Wednesday, August 30th; weather permitting.
 
Workers will be milling down old pavement on several streets and resurfacing them with new asphalt. "No Parking" signs will be posted on each of the effected street approximately 48 hous in advance before work officially begins. Traffic will be allowed to drive through the streets as they're being repaved, but motorists should still drive carefully and obey traffic control signs and flagmen.
 
The following streets will be affected by the project.
 
1st Ward (Becker Lane, Jefferson Street (Durwood Hoag Dr. - E. Eighth St.), Phillips Street (Warner St. to Acme St.), Seventh Street (Putnam St. to Front of Tim Hortons), S. Sixth Street (Hard St. - Wayne St.)
 
2nd Ward (Seventh Street (Putnam St. to Front of Tim Hortons), Warren Street (Fifth St. - Seventh St.))
 
3rd Ward (Linwood Ave., Montgomery St. (Third St. - Fifth St.), Tenth Street, Warren Street (Fifth St. - Seventh St.)
 
4th Ward (Barber Street, Fairview Lane, Franklin Street (Putnam Ave. - Lancaster St.), Lancaster Street (Altra St. - Clark St.), Market Street (Franklin St. Gilman Ave.), New Street, Ward Street, Wyoming Road (Laramie Rd. - Edgewood Dr.)
