Music Alumni to Perform During Marietta College Homecoming

Four of the currently 750 alumni and friends registered for Marietta College's 2017 Homecoming, are former music students who will perform at different times on Saturday, October 21st.
Peter Krutschnitt of the Class of 2012 from Baltimore, Maryland will return with one of his bands, The Big Hoax, and add some musical energy during the tailgate before Marietta's football game against Heidelberg at Don Drumm Stadium beginning at 11:30 a.m. Later that evening, The Big Hoax will perform at The Marietta Brewing Company on Front Street from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Krustschnitt graduated from Marietta with a degree in Percussion Performance.
WMOA News recently spoke with Marietta College's Executive Director of Communication & Brand Management Tom Perry about some the returning musical alumni.
"We're always trying to make that tailgate a little bit more exciting. And I think in the past we've had a DJ which has worked out well. We've really talked about the idea of having that nice blend of live music at the tailgate and we think this is the perfect bid for that, and we're pretty excited that Peter and his band are willing to come back and do this."
The College is also excited to welcome back three Vocal Performance graduates, who are collaborating on a joint vocal recital. Rachel Carter of the Class of 2009 from Vero Beach, Florida; Heather Keith of the Class of 2007 from Chicago, Illinois; and Celia Brockway Macchia of the Class of 2011 from Carrollton, Virginia, will join their soprano voices and perform at 7:00 p.m. in the Alma McDonough Auditorium.
"And so just kind of a nice little different touch that we're getting with a homecoming that you don't always get. And so I think there's a lot of excitement for the music program and across campus that we're going to be able to have these kinds of two different programs that you wouldn't normally have."
The concert as well several of the other homecoming events is free and open to the public.
