Congressman Bill Johnson is once again calling for the support of local Marietta citizens to make a change in this country that could potentially help put more into the pockets of American households.
 

U.S. President Donald Trump has recently called for a total overhaul of the tax code that will unleash economic growth and increase the take-home pay of families. As a result, local congressman Bill Johnson is working hard to make that happen, and WMOA News recently talked to him about just how he'll go about doing that.
 

"This is the first major tax relief, tax reform overhaul since the mid-80s. We've got one of the most honorous tax codes in the free world. Americans are paying too much in taxes. We need to let more of the American people keep more of what they earn so that they can invest so that they can plan for futures, so that can plan for college so that they can pursue the American Dream so that they can start a business. And all of those things embedded in this tax relief and tax reform package."

While Johnson tells us that a solution is being brought forward, politicians aren't the only ones to have an effect on the overall outcome. Johnson also tells us about a tool he's willing to provide to the public to help them better manage their families income finances.

"Stop by my office in Marietta. People will be encouraged to know that we're going to keep our word. Most Americans will be able to file their taxes on a postcard-sized form because we're going to be doubling the standard deduction, and that's going to mean that millions of Americans in the low-income bracket are not going to paying any income tax at all, and that's going to be a good thing. This is a low-income, middle-class, quality of life improving tax reform package. The American people are going to be very happy with the results of this."
