Chris Wharff

My first on-air experience in radio was a short one and it took place in 1974, when my dad had me do halftime stats for the Canton McKinley/Cincinnati Elder state championship basketball game in St. John Arena.
Eighteen years later, I returned to the airwaves as a color commentator before becoming our high school basketball play-by-play announcer for the 92-93 season. Oddly enough, I ended up right back at St. John Arena with Coach Joe Garrett and the Belpre Golden Eagles.
Personally, there's nothing more enjoyable than high school and college sports, and if I wasn't broadcasting them I would be in attendance anyway.
Thanks to all the players, coaches and fans that make my job so rewarding.
