ODOT Offers Real-Time Road, Weather Conditions and More at Ohgo.com

The Ohio Department of Transportation yesterday launched a new web site with the goal of using state-of-the-art technology to keep motorists informed with real-time information.

Ohgo.com was developed for multiple platforms, including phones and tablets. The site is interactive and provides:

- Data from hundreds of road sensors on major highways and many ODOT garages

- Interstate highway crashes, slowdowns and tie-ups, including road construction

- Traffic cameras (mostly in urban areas)

- Winter road conditions

On the main page map click on southeast Ohio to zero in on local information. Check current temperatures and road conditions along Interstate 77 at the Ohio River Bridge, Macksburg, Senacaville and north to Cleveland or along I-70 to Columbus. ODOT county garages at Pomeroy, Athens, McConnelsville and Woodsfield also provide live sensor readings.

It’s an excellent way to determine conditions before heading out on a winter-time trip.
