Posted on: 02/15/2013

Authorities are continuing to investigate the attempted abduction of an 11-year-old girl near Beverly yesterday.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says the suspect appeared to be in his mid-20s, approximately 5-feet-10, and had facial hair but no beard.  He was wearing camouflage clothing and a hunter orange and camouflage hat, and was carrying a long gun at the time of the incident.

Authorities say he approached the girl behind Fort Frye High School, but the girl escaped unharmed.

Anyone who has information about the case is asked to call the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 376-7070, extension 0.
