Four injured in crash on State Route 550

Four people including two children were injured in a violent traffic crash just before 8:00 this morning on State Route 550 at Johnson Road…that’s on the east side of Tunnel Hill in Warren Township.
 
Rescue squads from Warren Township and Devola responded, as did Warren firefighters and the State Highway Patrol.
 
Troopers say a 2003 Ford Focus driven by 27-year-old James Brookover of Marietta went left of center and struck a 2007 Chrysler Town and Country van, driven by 36-year-old Matthew Peckens of Marietta.
 
Brookover was taken by MedFlight to OSU’s Wexner Medical Center with undisclosed injuries.  Peckens was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital with a broken leg and other injuries.  The two children, one in each vehicle, were taken to Marietta Memorial where they were treated and released.
 
Route 550 was blocked for just over two hours following this morning’s crash.  No charges have been filed as yet in the incident.
