Man Accused of Raping Stepchildren
Posted on: 05/01/2013
By  Mike Cullums

A Marietta man has been arrested, accused of repeatedly raping his stepchildren.

Police arrested 35-year-old Roger Lee Morrow Junior of 780 Greene Street yesterday following an investigation. He's charged with three first-degree felony counts of rape.

A statement of facts provided to WMOA News by the police department states that the case began with an anonymous phone call to Washington County Children’s Services on Monday, alleging physical and sexual abuse by Roger Morrow of his stepchildren - ages 8, 10 and 11.

Police and Children’s Services began their investigation by interviewing the three girls, one at a time. Two of the three described being subjected to vaginal and anal intercourse on three to four occasions between 2012 and March of 2013. The third girl did not or could not disclose anything other than what she called “bad touches.”

Yesterday afternoon, investigators made contact with the suspect and his wife, asking them to come to the police station. Morrow agreed to come speak with them and, at first, stated that nothing had happened.

After a few minutes of discussion, he admitted that he had raped two of the girls three-to-four times each, and the third girl one-or-two times.

He was read his Miranda rights, which he waived. He then stated his account of his sexual activities with the girls. He stated that he knew it was wrong and he did not know why he did it.

Morrow was then placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail. He's to be arraigned today.

First-degree felony rape carries a sentence of up to life in prison without parole when the victim is ten years of age or younger.
