Some construction work will be starting soon at Marietta High School.

It would bring the classrooms out of the vocational building and attach them at the end of the high school," says school board president Greg Gault.  "Then, to enclose the walkway on the other end, connecting the main school and the auditorium complex.

Gault says this is a safety and security issue, to make sure all students are under one roof throughout the day.

Grae-Con Construction was awarded the contract to do the work.  The nearly $600,000 project is set to be complete before school starts this fall.
