As of this (Fri.) afternoon, the latest
information from the National Weather Service forecast office in Charleston is
predicting severe winter weather for the Marietta area, with a swath from
Athens to Clarksburg expected to see significant ice accumulation on Sunday
afternoon and evening, to be followed by several inches of snow overnight and
during the day Monday.
The forecast model indicates that from .25 to .5 inch of ice and 5 to 9 inches of snow are possible in the Athens-Marietta-Parkersburg-Clarksburg corridor. These estimates are
preliminary and could change substantially by Sunday.
