Three juveniles have been summonsed to appear in court after they were seen fleeing the scene of a theft with a safe.
A Marietta resident reported that when she arrived at her State Route 7 home after work last week, papers from her safe were strewn about her floor and her safe was missing.
A neighbor said she recognized three young people she observed running toward a nearby tree line with a white box. Under questioning in front of their parents, the 14, 12 and 10 year old boys admitted entering the residence stealing $8 and breaking the safe open with an axe because they needed money. The trio is facing delinquency charges related to felony offenses of burglary, safecracking and possession of criminal tools.
