Marietta Woman Jailed Over Fake Prescriptions
Posted on: 07/21/2008
By  Callie Lyons
A Marietta woman was jailed without bond after she posed as a nurse to phone in false prescriptions to local pharmacies.

36 year old Traci Schwendeman of Third Street was calling area pharmacies with fake prescriptions for herself for Vicodin.
A diligent pharmacist alerted the Major Crimes Task Force to the situation. Agents made arrangements with the local pharmacy to fill a prescription and then officers watched as the suspect picked up the prescription in the drive-thru.
The Marietta Police Department initiated a traffic stop and located the fraudulent prescription. Under questioning, Schewendeman admitted the prescription was not valid.

She was arrested for a fifth degree felony charge of using deception to obtain a dangerous drug and a third degree misdemeanor charge of possession of drugs.
