Last week we told you that the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry posted new air monitoring data on its website.
The new data reveals that of the four monitoring sites, those in Vienna and Boaz, WV recorded the highest quarterly averages for manganese.
The highest single reading of .26 micrograms per cubic meter was taken in January at the Boaz monitor, just across the Ohio River from Eramet Marietta.
This reading is more than five times the level deemed safe for continuous exposure by the federal government, according to a spokesperson from Ohio Citizen Action.
