New Veterans Services Department Opens in Ohio

This week the state controlling board approved funding to make way for the creation of the new Ohio Department of Veterans Services.

This Spring the general assembly unanimously approved legislation to create the new department, which is intended to provide Ohio veterans and their families a central place to access benefits.

The department's first day of operation will be Thursday, Aug 21.

More than a million veterans and tens of thousands of active military personnel call Ohio home.
