Tourism generated $181 million in Washington County in 2007.
The Convention and Visitors Bureau released statistics yesterday detailing the impact of tourism in the area.
Three year trend data shows the county's sales up by 6.3 percent. Washington County ranked number one generating the highest tourism economic impact out of the 18 counties in the southeast Ohio region.
Tourism in the county contributed $12.4 million in state and local taxes.
And, 1,722 jobs were sustained by visitor spending.
