It's going to be a historic race to the White House, so you'll want to have your say at the polls. The Washington County Board of Elections has mailed an absentee ballot application to every registered voter in the county.
Ohio law says you dont need a reason to vote absentee. So, all you have to do is mail back the absentee application and a ballot will be mailed to you. Those ballots will start to be mailed out September 30.
If you are not registered to vote in Washington County, there is still time. You can register to vote for the November election up until October 6. The board of elections will stay open until 9 PM on October 6 to accommodate you. You may call or stop in at the Board of Elections to register at any time every day between 8 AM and 5 PM. Ohio does have a law that requires you to be registered to vote 30 days before an election.
Also, this weekend, you can register to vote at the Sternwheel Festival. the Ohio Secretary of State's office will have a booth to assist you.
