Foreclosure rates in the area are only about half as high as the national foreclosure rate according to data released yesterday by First American CoreLogic.
The rate of foreclosures among outstanding mortgage loans was .8 percent for the month of June and includes activity in Parkersburg, Marietta, and Vienna.
During that same time, the national foreclosure rate was 1.6 percent.
Even so, the delinquency rate has increased over the past year. In June, 2.2 percent of mortgage loans were more than 90 days delinquent. That compares to 1.9 percent for the same time last year.
