On Tuesday, deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the scene of a burglary at the residence of Frank Chute at 312 Simpson Street.
About $10,000 worth of old and collectible coins, two handguns, and a DVD player were stolen from the residence.
Later that same day, a local bank contacted the sheriff’s department to let them know that a 31 year old male subject cashed in a large quantity of old coins. Later identified as Kenneth Sparks of 319 Simpson Street, the man told bank employees that he had a lot more old coins and that he would return later to exchange them for cash.
A warrant was obtained for the search of Sparks’ residence. The victim’s daughter was able to identify several items in Sparks’ possession as her father’s missing property. As a result, Sparks is wanted for a second degree felony charge of burglary. His whereabouts are currently unknown.
