Marietta Memorial Hospital’s Addiction & Pain Services is working with 31 Washington and Wood county restaurant and bar owners to keep roads safe both New Year’s Eve and Superbowl Sunday.
Last year, there were 1,257 deaths in Ohio resulting from alcohol related auto accidents.
The goal of the designated driver campaign is to lessen these tragedies and encourage people to think before they drink.
Participating locations will provide FREE designated non-alcoholic drinks to patrons who announce they are designated drivers during New Year’s Eve and Superbowl Sunday. Posters and coasters will be prominent in those locations participating in the event.
