Just after midnight on Sunday morning, the sheriff’s office responded to a call concerning the death of an 18 year old New Matamoras resident.

Michael Leasure has been transported to the Wetzel County Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

An investigation revealed he had been at the residence of Ethel Lamp on Main Street in New Matamoras when he began having seizures.

Information received from witnesses indicates Leasure had ingested at least one Saboxin and a Vicodin pill earlier in the evening.  Leasure’s body will be transported to Charleston for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
