Former Williamstown Athlete turned U.S. Air Force Test Pilot

St. Mary's, WV- Former Williamstown Football, Basketball and Track Athlete Major Ross Elder of St. Mary's West Virginia recently graduated from the Air Force Academy. Elder graduated from the Sheppard Air Force Base Fighter Pilot School. 
 

As a member of the famous Flying Tigers Squadron, he flew the A-10 Warthog on active combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. 
 

He now has been accepted as a test pilot for the United States Air Force. 
 

Elder is now the second person from West Virginia ever to be chosen as a test pilot for the U.S. Military.  The first was the late Chuck Yeager.
