Holiday gasoline prices

The region is three cents lower on average this week compared to last, according to AAA.
Despite a demand surge last week, the national average dipped down to 3.30 per gallon. This past Friday, West Texas Intermediate decreased by one dollar and fifty-two cents to settle at $70.86.
Crude prices declined last week due to a growing market concern that the latest variants of COVID-19 would lead to a decrease in demand.
Marietta is averaging 3.22 per gallon. Athens is still high at 3.35 per gallon. Chillicothe, Columbiana and Hillsboro are the three areas in the region below three dollars per gallon.

Ahead of a very busy travel weekend, AAA is reporting a decrease in fuel prices and crude prices that are going up and down.
