Forty four dancers, eighty eight grand pianos, and a four hundred member swing band... THAT is a show. Happy Wednesday everyone and thanks for making your way back to check out day three of the B&B's top five favorite Superbowl halftime shows!
So it was 1988 and the committee decided to celebrate with eighty eight pianos that each have eighty eight keys on them. 7744 ivories were being tickled before the Rockettes came out and did some work and then Chubby Checker stood high above the crowd and sang some tunes. Good thing there wasn't a roof on SDCCU Stadium in San Diego because it would have been blown off.
The only thing missing was Tom Hanks and Robert Loggia playing chopsticks with their legs. It would have been a great addition.. but the movie "Big" didn't come out until five months later.
Game wise the Washington Redskins gained the eighteen year old Lombardi Trophy. The final was 42-10.
