John M. Halliday was sworn in today to serve as judge on the Washington County Court of Common Pleas, General and Domestic Relations Division.

"I am much calmer now than I was beforehand," Halliday said. "I am sure that I forgot to thank many people, but I am excited to start work on Monday morning."

Halliday is replacing Judge John Triplett who retired from the Washington County Court of Common Pleas on February 28, 2020.

"I had a great conversation with Judge Triplett last night," Halliday continued. "I am devastated of how I got here because of his illness, but I am truly humbled by his support. I am looking forward to taking care of the people of Washington County."

Judge Halliday must run for election on November 3, 2020, for the remainder of the term ending December 31, 2024.
