During a press conference Wednesday, the announcement was made that 2,300 members of the national guard are deployed. Their presence will be known in Ohio's bigger cities, no mention of Marietta at this point.

Additionally, the Ohio Hospital Association distributed a letter from the Ohio Hospital Association and Ohio Children's Hospital association to Ohio school superintendents, administrators and school board members encouraging them to implement a masking requirement when students return from their holiday break.  The Governor's Office says that the requirement in schools will help limit community spread of COVID-19 and keep students in school.

Around one month ago, Marietta City schools halted the requirement for students to wear masks while in school.  Students are still allowed to wear masks at school if they feel it is necessary.  Aside from this, masks are still required on buses as this is a federal requirement.
