Fuel prices up

The national average is 3.53 per gallon. This is up 4 cents from a week ago and 21 cents more than a month ago. The rise puts averages 90 cents higher than this time last year. 
 

A Russian attack on the Ukraine would be met by severe financial sanctions led by the United States and its allies.  Russia could retaliate by withholding oil from the world market. 
 

Around the area we see gas price averages at 3.38 in Marietta.  The two other areas that are higher are Columbiana and Ironton, both averaging 3.39 per gallon.

AAA is reporting high gas prices all around the area as geopolitical tension continues.
