Go Packs Swim Nights
Go Packs has hosted swim nights at the Betsey Mills this year since September and will continue until May. These nights are open to families through a Go Packs program. Heather Warner, the executive Director of Go Packs, talks about how it has been going. "Well, it's been good. I mean, we've been doing this for three or four years now with the Betsy Mills Club and each, each month we usually have anywhere from three to five, six families. And what's really great is we have both the, um, kids and the parents like to get in and swim together." For those who are unaware, Warner explains the three programs. "Go Packs is a local nonprofit that fights food insecurity, and we do so through three relationship based programs. We have an elementary program, a middle school high school program, and a homeschooling program." Across many areas, Go Packs is working to help families. "Things like family swim nights, but also things like cooking classes, um, gardening clubs, uh, trauma-informed care workshops, financial literacy, pretty much anything that someone might need to improve their situation. We look to find the, the local expert in the area and make the connections and put together some opportunities for, for those out there to learn." For families enrolled in Go Packs, swim nights are the 2nd Friday of every month from 6-7 PM.
Go Packs offers many opportunities for families enrolled in the program, including monthly swim nights.
