For those of you who are in the Merry-Etta Lighted Christmas Parade Nov. 27, you are being asked to find your spot and line up starting at 4 p.m. Lineup locations will be determined by the order floats arrive, with the exception of dance units and animal units. The parade will start promptly at 6pm.
The entrance to the parade lineup will be from 6th street onto Hart Street. As for candy, you are permitted to have it however, event organizers are asking you to not throw it. Due to the darkness, some may not be able to see the candy and in years past, reports of injuries have come in.
Additional law enforcement will be present at the parade this year as well. Marietta Police Chief Aaron Nedeff made the call after events at a Wisconsin Parade that has left 6 dead.
And for those who will be lining the streets, you can find your spot anywhere along Front Street or Putnam and on second street before Butler. The Parade will end at 2nd and Butler.
