AAA says high heat has just enough potential to kill batteries as the cold in the winter months.

Hot sun breaks down internal components of a battery. This could lead to some people stranded at the roadside.

Temperatures have been into the 90's this week and with the fourth of July coming this weekend an increased amount of travel is expected.  Here in the Mid-Ohio Valley the hot highs could have already taken a toll on your battery.  It is recommended to get it checked before any trips.

AAA says they expect around 460,000 Americans at the roadside this weekend with dead batteries topping the list.
