The Frontier Shopping Center has been sold: Chris-Mar sold the center to Crowdvest LLC, based in New York, for $9.1 million. Former owner of the Center, Ted Christy, said selling the center, which had been in his family for 69 years, was not an easy choice.

"We weren't gonna sell it. It was an unsolicited offer. Tried to close a couple of times, and I don't know if there was a quirk in their financing or what, but they didn't close, and we were at the point, say, "Hey, I'm not in a huge hurry. This place is still chugging, and we'll just stay with it. But they got in under the wire, I think the last day before, the last option expired."

Reports circulated back in 2019 that the center was up for sale. This is something that Christy denied happening.

"?I don't exactly know what, what they're referring to. I mean, we had it up for sale way before that. The buyer, uh, looked at it, did all the scrutiny and everything. He decided for one reason or another that he wasn't gonna go through with it. I don't think I ever met the guy. But I, I don't remember, I don't think we even tried. We had no interest."

Christy saw the business owners within the center as business partners and took pride in being local and being able to provide quick relief when an issue arose.

" Well, I always regarded it as kind of a partnership because we knew if our tenants did well, we would do well.
