Marietta man charged with attempting to solicit minor

MARIETTA, OH- Daniel Sciance Jr. reportedly agreed to meet with who he believed to be a 15-year-old female to engage in sexual activity. 
 
 
Arrangements were made with Sciance to meet in a shopping center in town. Agents reportedly observed Sciance pulling into a parking spot, after this Sciance advised an undercover agent to get in the back. He was then taken into custody. 
 
 
Back in August, agents began communicating with the subject.  During the communications, the reports say Sciance engaged in conversation attempting to solicit sexual activity with who he believed to be a 15-year-old female. Then on Dec. 29, communications were setn to the female making numerous sexual advances which according to reports included very explicit sexual content. Sciance also indicated to the 15-year-old that she would spend the night and he would provide the pot.
 
 
Daniel Sciance Jr. was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with importuning, a 5th degree felony. Sciance was also charged with possession of criminal tools which is also a fifth-degree felony. Sciance was also served active warrants for two counts of driving under suspension and a stop sign violation.

Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks says an arrest was made back on Dec. 29 by agents with the Southeastern Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force.
