Ohio governor temporarily renames 3 parks to honor Bengals players
Posted on: 02/08/2022
Ahead of the big game this Sunday between the Bengals and the Rams, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and Ohio Governor Mike DeWine temporarily renamed three Ohio State Parks to honor current and past players of Cincinnati.
Burr Oak State Park will be renamed for the next several days as… take a guess… Burrow Oak State Park in honor of Southeast Ohio's own Joe Burrow. It's also good to mention that if the Bengals snag a win over the Rams on Sunday, Burrow will become the first quarterback in history to win the Heisman Trophy, a National Championship and the Superbowl.
In Bainbridge is Paint Creek State Park, this one is not as much a play on words as Burr Oak but it will be renamed Evan McPherson Extra Point creek state park. This is in celebration for Evan whose game winning kicks in the divisional playoff and the AFC Conference Championship games helped send the Bengals to the game this weekend.
Finally, the Hesuton Woods State Park in College Corner will honor the legendary Ickey Woods. This one is located between Cincinnati and Dayton. Through the weekend this will go from the Heuston Woods State Park to the Ickey Woods State Park.
