$602,500 will be going to nine communities in Southeast Ohio, according to Senator Sherrod Brown's Office,

The funding comes from the USDA Rural Development Community Facilities Direct Loan and Grant Program. Funding will help places like the Green Township in Hocking County to purchase dump trucks in an effort to continue road maintenance.  The cost here is $76,000.

Morgan County will receive three grants. One for $74,500 in the Morgan Township to purchase two tractors and a ditch mower, another for 19,500 dollars in the Penn Township to finance the acquisition of a tractor and mower to help maintain public roads. The final in Morgan County will be for 56,500 to finance the acquisition of a replacement vehicle and associated equipment.

The final grant listed goes to the Grandview Township in Washington County.  $71,500 will be granted to provide funding to purchase a tractor and a boom mower.

Senator Brown was quoted saying that now more than ever, we must ensure that communities in Southeast Ohio have the resources they need to improve the everyday lives of their residents.
