Ohio school transportation grants
Posted on: 02/22/2022
33 school transportation grants will be awarded this academic year. Funding comes from the Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board and the Capitol Square Foundation.
School transportation grants will be available to any Ohio school that receives state funding. The grants will be made available to help schools defray bus transportation costs for field trips to the Ohio Statehouse and its museum. Each grant will be based on one way mileage from the visiting school to Columbus.
Mileage categories include 200 dollars for school traveling from 1 to 50 miles.
300 dollars will go to a school that travels between 51 and 100 miles and schools that travel 101 miles plus will receive 400 dollars.
More than 75,000 students from all of Ohio's 88 counties have visited the statehouse with the assistace of these grants. The program was created in 2009.
The 11 schools that receive funding will be drawn at random. Applications open tomorrow at 9am and will wrap on Monday, February 28th at 5pm.
