Spring Shop Hop

Marietta Main Street's Spring Shop Hop will take place in downtown Marietta this weekend, on Saturday, March 21st. Jen Tinkler of Marietta Main Street shares more.


"Shop Hop is this Saturday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM and what that means is there's gonna be shops downtown that'll have balloons in front of them to let you know that they're participating in the shop hop, and they'll have sales and specials. But the big idea is that every purchase you make inside those stores, you get entered into a grand prize drawing to win a basket full of downtown merchandise and gift cards. Right now, the basket's valued at over $450."
 
Tinkler explains how many businesses participate.
 
"All the shops will and restaurants will be open that day. There are 13 participating shops that your purchases will get you entered into the drawing."
 
She likes seeing the support go towards so many local businesses. 
 
"Supporting local, whether it's a, a shop downtown or eating lunch at a restaurant, um, means the world to these shop owners because this is their livelihood. This is what they do. You know, they're the ones that support your little league. Baseball teams will donate to your spaghetti dinners, and they put their heart and soul into these, into their shops. So, you know, our, our goal is to bring people downtown to help them succeed. You know, we want people to succeed. We want our storefronts to be full."
 
The Spring Shop Hop will be available from 11 AM to 4 PM on Saturday.
