Marietta City School Superintendent Will Hampton has been keeping up with COVID-19 in the area and said recently that the progress is 'slow but steady' in terms of infection rate.  Hampton noted that school numbers are relatively low with just six positive cases. The school system will reportedly continue requiring masks to work in the right direction.

Hampton sent out a survey recently regarding the child vaccine. Hampton says he is interested in the response adding that he and the system is interested to see how many parents would like their 5–11-year-old children to be vaccinated. According to communications with the school this past Friday, 95 vaccine requests had come in.

Hampton concluded by saying if a large number of students get vaccinated, it makes it easier for the system to function without masks.
