(MARIETTA, OH) - A brine water pump station on State Route 676 has fallen behind the timeframe for its completion.

The pump station, which is offloader for State Route 7, connects with the one on Route 676, and  is being built to pump brine water into wells at homes on Harmar Hill while eliminating truck traffic and disturbing people living in the area, according to The Marietta Times.

Officials with Water Energy Services say the station was supposed to be finished by the end of this month, but they had to extend the project into October because of rain and storm delays this summer.

The State Route 7 offloading site is a $2 million project, while the 676 project is estimated at $2.5 million.

Water Energy Services tells The Times it will be looking to fill 28 positions at the end of October.
